RECON’s High Definition Production Logging Tool (HDPLT) platform delivers unparalleled data sets and downhole information compared to industry alternatives. HDD™ (High Definition Data) is made possible through RECON’s Proprietary Telemetry System (learn more). The Telemetry employs advanced sensor with the ability to measure and obtain more samples per foot than any other system available. Combined with 3 Fluid Identification (ID) sensors, the HDPLT delivers more holdup data and simply put “more data period”. RECON’s HDPLT system includes a high quality accurate quartz pressure, Spinner/Flowmeter, Fast Response Temperature, 3 Fluid ID sensors (fluid density, fluid capacitance & high definition holdup) as well as various array technologies, all sampling with the HDDTM Telemetry System.
By employing more precise measurements, identification of dual & multi-phase flow in vertical and horizontal well environments becomes clearer. HDPLT delivers you the highest confidence in your flow information. The platform is ideal for pinpointing water breakthrough regions and measures the performance of the lateral section.

RECON’s HDPLT logging service leads the industry with the smallest down hole tool assembly for horizontal well deployment (1 3/8” OD—25 ft length). This platform can be deployed in memory mode on slickline or coiled tubing, as well as in Surface Readout (SRO) mode on E-Line, E-Coil and Tractor. The versatility of RECON’s HDPLT platform enables low deployment costs.
In low flow velocity applications (e.g.- Marginal Flowing, Low Velocity Shale Gas or Coal Bed Methane Wells), RECON’s HDPLT can resolve individual gas contributions down to 1.76mcf/d (0.05e3m3) or less based on a flowing interval at 14 psi. The resolution of the HDPLT service can actually be used to measure gas inflow through standing columns of water and measure individual perforation tunnel velocities.
The theory behind production logging is based on Holdup & Velocity. Since RECON is the only Production Logging group that can directly measure a full bore cross-sectional gas/liquid holdup, backed up by two additional fluid ID sensors (Density and Capacitance), RECON is capable of delivering our clients measurements and production analysis with the highest confidence.
RECONs in-house analysis utilizes an industry standard Production Logging analysis package, which, in conjunction with High Definition Production measurements, can accurately allocate inflows across the complex, completed producing vertical & lateral sections.
